Creativity as a pathway to relief
Living with ongoing invisible pain can be isolating and frustrating.
Alongside my (very part-time) work as the founder of My Health Story, an artist, curator and designer, you all know my near full-time position has been living with chronic pain.
That experience has reshaped not only my life, but my understanding of how we process it, communicate it, and cope (or not!) with it.
It’s reshaped who I am.
But I use creativity to help me with this reshaping process, and now I can help you do this, too.
What is this, exactly?
Creativity is not just something to ‘learn’ or ‘do’. It is a powerful way to make sense of what we’re going through, to express what’s hard to articulate, and to reconnect with ourselves when pain pushes us out of living.
My mentor offering is private, one-on-one sessions designed to support you in navigating life with chronic pain through creative thinking, reflection, and expression.
You don’t need to be an artist.
My approach is not clinical, prescriptive, or instructional.
This is not about productivity or aspiring to create a masterpiece.
It’s about finding catharsis and a language to express your experience – something I keep doing to manage the effects of pudendal neuralgia!
I believe that without a way to express traumatic experience, the pressure and pain can add up. I’ve personally seen how creativity has helped me manage.
It’s been my guiding light.

It will be simple
Mentoring sessions are about providing relief through creative methods and a form of distraction that suits you.
We’ll find your way.
Together, we can process your emotional load, help you document your personal journey, discover something new, and explore ‘creative’ treatment and try to lighten the heavy load you are carrying.
You don’t need to be creative – just curious.
This isn’t medical advice – although I may be considered an expert in managing pain, the experience I have is creative.
And this isn’t a one-to-one chat about pain and how it affects our lives? No way!
We’ll be taking trauma and throwing it on a page. Releasing it from our bodies.
The sessions are private and for getting your thoughts unstuck and moving away from that repetitive, painful thinking.
You can also start on your own by picking up a pencil and paper and scribbling, making patterns, and/or writing down words that come to mind to see how that feels.
I’ve included some packages below, but contact me if you need more information.
