Since my accident many things, like facebook, have taken on a new meaning. It’s a great way to socialise (actually, let me be honest, its a great distraction) especially if you can’t get out easily. And the best thing is you can choose to participate as much or as little as you are able to.

My websites have only recently included posts on my pain issue. For the first four years I was convinced I would get my life back and the general public wouldn’t have to know that I was ‘unable’ to work. And it worked!!!! (Boy did it, the investigators looooooooved it of course, can’t tell you what a joy it was sorting all that out!!)

All I’m saying is pain can be alienating and from there it just gets dangerous. Stimulation, inspiration, knowledge, energy, it is more essential with an injury and Facebook offers an easy way to communicate, stay connected, have a community, learn, share, I guess it’s feeling a little alive, like you are in fact part of the world.
